Our Mission
The mission of FYRE Canada is to actively open avenues for education by building international relations and providing financial assistance to dedicated students who could not otherwise afford the cost. FYRE , first and foremost, raises funds to provide scholarships to students in need of financial assistance. FYRE also promotes global knowledge and cultural exchange by providing a communications network and volunteers who act as education facilitators, fund raisers and tutors.
FYRE was ignited in 2003 when a small group of dedicated Calgarians, took the initiative to raise money so that a young Laotian monk could realizes his dreams of post secondary education. In recognition of the ongoing global need, the fund raising efforts expanded, a Board of Directors of created and FYRE became a charitable foundation registered with the Canadian Revue Agency.
